At the time of Rosario Castellanoss death (1974) in an accident in Tel Aviv (she was serving as her countrys ambassador to Israel), she was considered Mexicos most important modern woman poet and exponent of feminism. This anthology contains an ample selection of her poetry, in Spanish and English, from the volume Poesia no eres tu (1972), which collects her works beginning with the youthful De la vigilia esteril (1950).
